We print our embossed gloss business cards on high-quality luxurious 450gsm silk cards with a choice of either Premium or Luxury Spot UV. We offer double-sided and single-sided business cards with Spot UV on one or both sides.
To complete the look, you can pick from a choice of finishing options and have them Matt Laminated or Soft touch Laminated.

Everyone knows that a well-executed business card communicates a professional recognised within their field, and our three dimensional Spot UV business cards have become one of our most popular and luxurious designs for this reason. We have two types of Spot UV to choose from: Premium and Luxury.
Our Premium Spot UV layer is 14 microns thick providing a subtle 3D lustrous finish while our Luxury Spot UV layer is 43 microns thick giving you a chance to truly exude certain elements of the design for an unmissable look.
Spot UV cards are the same size as standard business cards, measuring 85mm by 55mm, but they include a unique Spot UV layer on certain aspects of the design for an attention-grabbing finish. The UV is only applied to specific areas, most often areas that you want people to notice, like your logo or brand name, and is a creative way of adding depth and contrast through differing levels of texture and shine.
We offer two types of Spot UV layers: Premium and Luxury. The difference between them is the thickness of the UV layer used. Our Premium UV is 14 microns thick while our Luxury Spot UV finish is 43 microns thick. Your choice depends on how raised you want the elements on your card to be and how much of a dramatic finish you prefer. Upgrading to the Luxury can really make them pop!

As with any business card, the design of your Spot UV business card is incredibly important. One of the key things to be aware of is the amount of Spot UV coating you are using. You should never go full coverage as it really doesn’t look good, but instead, focus on which elements of your design you want to stand out. We recommend aiming for about 30% maximum coverage as this will make your graphic elements really attention-grabbing and can give your business the edge over a competitor.
As with all artwork for print, there is always the need for a 3mm bleed or trim. Colours should always be set up in CMYK too! If your struggling you can always download our artwork templates to ensure that the artwork files you upload are correct.
Please note we would always recommend that you supply a separate pdf file with the UV effect elements only. Typically in black ink or magenta only. This is so we can be sure of the elements you wish to have the special finish. We then program our machine with the correct register marks to print these in a clear varnish – this is how spot uv is applied.
Spot UV layers can work well on logos and text and graphic shapes, but we wouldn’t recommend going too small with the text as the quality can look poor. One of the best ways to use Spot UV and add depth to your text and logos is to use it in contrasting colours so that one particular shade stands out over the other, this is the perfect way to use spot uv on your business cards.
We offer our spot UV printing with 2 types of lamination helping you to draw attention for the right reasons. These are matt lamination(matte) and soft touch lamination. You would not want to use a gloss laminated finish with 3d business cards as it would not be an effective way to make your card stand out.
We offer them in either standard size 85mm x 55mm but can also offer the gloss finish on 55mm x 55mm square cards just get in touch if that is the option if you need. We want to help set you apart for the right reasons whilst creating that intrigue.
