Sometimes referred to as a ceremony programme, our order of service booklets ensures everyone knows what to expect during the day. They are commonly used for funerals, weddings and christenings to outline each stage of the ritual including hymns that will be sung and words said by the minister. When printed to a high standard, they can make beautiful keepsakes and can even be framed at a later date to commemorate the occasion.
Order of service booklets can also be used for much more than just detailing the steps of your service. You can include photos, poems, hymns, and messages to celebrate the occasion more deeply including thank you messages to those who have helped organise the event and details about the reasons behind your song and hymn choices. For those designing a wedding order of service, you may also want to include a run-down of your bridal party and details about the schedule of your reception later on in the day.
Typically they are a step-by-step account of what your guests can expect during your ceremony. They are usually handed out to guests as they enter the venue or put onto seats for when they sit down. Usually in booklet form, they contain a printed order of service including speeches, hymns and messages they can expect to hear. They also make beautiful keepsakes for guests to take home and remember the occasion and help guide your guests through the wedding or funeral or other special day making sure it all runs smoothly.
There is no set page count or rules to follow we want to make this difficult time as easy as possible. The smallest funeral order of service booklets tends to be 4 pages and usually A5 in size (14.8cm). The page count as well as the design is fully customisable the only rule is that if you have more than 4 pages they follow the rule of 4 for page counts. This has to do with how they are made. Like our folded leaflets the booklets are printed as a larger sheet and are bound along the spine to create a carefully crafted and bespoke booklet.

What to include in a personalised order of service may depend greatly on the kind of ritual you are hosting. A general rule of thumb is to include a run-down of all the important events, speeches and hymns that guests can expect to hear and sing. You can also include the entrance music, introduction speeches, special readings, commendations, blessings and exit music. You should also include a cover that commemorates the occasion properly.
For order of service for funerals, many people choose to include a photograph of the person they are remembering and the dates of their birth and death. Inside you can include details of the eulogy, images and memories of your loved one and a short message or epitaph. For weddings, the cover traditionally includes details of the place of marriage, the names of the bride and groom and the date and time of the ceremony. Inside you can explain the order of the ceremony including the marriage, prayers, and signing of the register alongside thank you messages for those who played a special role in the day.
