How do A4 NCR Sets and NCR paper work?

Instead of using a sheet of carbon paper, loose NCR Sets are made up of several pieces of NCR paper. The back of each sheet is coated with a special micro-encapsulated dye that reacts with the top of the paper below when pressure is applied. When you press down onto the top sheet with your pen or pencil, you get an instant copy of the original, so you have a copy for yourself and one for your customer.

This carbonless paper is more commonly seen in invoice pads; NCR stands for ‘no carbon required’.

What can 2-part or 3-part A4 NCR Sets be used for?

NCR sets can have many uses, but because of their quick and easy duplication, most businesses use them for creating multiple invoices, delivery notes, receipts, order forms and accident forms. How long do Loose NCR Forms take to make?

This is dependent on what specification you order; that being said, we are online NCR printing specialists. As a guide timescale, we always advise a 7-10 working day production; this is the nature of the product we are producing for you. A lot of printing companies that offer NCR sets online will print on lower-grade NCR paper, which enables them to batch print your order with other customers. As we don’t compromise on quality, we only print on thinner paper stocks when requested to do so.

Once we have received your order details and your print-ready artwork file, we correlate this with your finishing options, and your order enters our production queue. Throughout this process, we monitor your order to make sure that it meets our quality standards. When your order is produced to spec, we package your order up and dispatch your NCR order to you using a next-day courier service. This does not mean we offer a next-day delivery service, but that as soon as your personalised order is ready, we get it out to you as quickly as possible.

Most shorter runs are typically produced in 5 working days, but this is not guaranteed as production flows can change.

What options are available on my Custom Printed NCR Forms?

We offer the best range of options, and it’s best to look at these before you begin placing your order. We offer numbering – a great way to keep count on your invoices and delivery notes. Just let us know your numbering position information along with your starting number, and we will do the rest. You can choose to have them glued along the top or the short edge. You can choose to have it printed in black or full colour, single or double-sided. We even offer a drilling service where you can choose between 2 or 4 holes, depending on the folder you wish to store them in.

You can choose either 2-part NCR, and we even offer 3 or 4-part sets to!

How should I design my Custom Printed A4 NCR Sets?

As with any piece of branded stationery, the design of your A4 NCR set should look professional and suit the rest of your brand message. We recommend including your logo and brand name so customers can quickly establish an identity for your business, as well as contact details for ease.

If numbering is needed on your A4 NCR set, please supply two files, one for printing and one showing the numbering position as a guide. If you would also like to order double-sided NCR sets, we suggest using 70 per cent black for the reserve to avoid any show-through.
